Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how HOFCD, LLC ("HOFCD," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with ScanMonkey (the "App").

Summary

ScanMonkey is designed as a local-first document scanner. Scans, OCR text, QR history, folders, tags, saved signatures, and app settings are stored on your device unless you choose to export or share them.

Information You Create or Store in the App

The App may store documents, imported photos, generated PDFs, OCR text, QR code scan history, folder names, color tags, page names, typed text, signatures, and related document metadata on your device. We do not run an account system for the App, and we do not receive your scanned documents through our own servers.

Device Permissions

ScanMonkey may request access to your camera to scan documents and QR codes, your photo library to import or save images, and Face ID or Touch ID if you enable app lock. Biometric authentication is handled by iOS. We do not receive or store your biometric data.

OCR and Document Processing

OCR text extraction and image processing are performed on device using iOS capabilities. OCR results may be inaccurate, incomplete, or affected by image quality.

Signatures

Saved signatures are stored on your device. The App is designed to protect saved signatures using device storage protections.

Ads and In-App Purchases

The free version of ScanMonkey may show ads using Google AdMob. AdMob may collect or receive information such as device identifiers, app interaction data, approximate location inferred from network information, diagnostics, and ad performance data, depending on your device settings, consent choices, and Google's policies. You can remove ads with a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details.

Support Communications

If you contact us for support, we may receive your email address, the contents of your message, and any information you choose to include. Do not send sensitive documents unless requested and necessary for support.

Sharing and Exporting

If you export, email, message, print, save to Photos, or send documents to another app or cloud service, that action is controlled by you and may be handled by Apple or the selected third-party service. Their privacy policies may apply.

Children's Privacy

ScanMonkey is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Data Retention and Deletion

Documents and app data remain on your device until you delete them, delete all local app data, or uninstall the App. Support emails may be retained as needed to respond to requests, maintain business records, and comply with legal obligations.

Your Responsibility for Data

You are responsible for deciding what documents, images, signatures, QR codes, and other information you scan, import, store, export, share, or delete using the App. You are also responsible for maintaining your own backups and protecting access to your device. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HOFCD, LLC is not responsible for loss, deletion, corruption, unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse of your documents or app data, including issues caused by device loss, device failure, user action, third-party services, exports, sharing choices, operating system behavior, or settings outside our control.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above.
