NetScanner Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how DHDS, LLC ("DHDS," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with NetScanner, also referred to in development builds as NetScan (the "App").

Summary

NetScanner is designed as a local-first network scanning and security utility. Network scan results, device labels, favorites, people tracking setup, alerts, and app preferences are stored on your device unless you choose to export, share, or otherwise send them elsewhere.

Information the App Processes

The App may scan your local network and process technical information such as IP addresses, MAC addresses available from the device ARP cache, vendor names derived from MAC address prefixes, hostnames, Bonjour/mDNS service names, UPnP/SSDP responses, NetBIOS names, SNMP responses, open ports, traceroute results, speed-test measurements, security findings, device notes, favorite status, device confirmation status, tags, and presence history that you configure in the App.

Local Storage

Scan results, saved devices, custom labels, people, presence history, notification preferences, subscription entitlement state, and related app settings may be stored locally on your device using iOS storage. We do not operate an account system for the App, and we do not receive your local network inventory through our own servers.

Device Permissions and Sensors

NetScanner may request Local Network access to discover devices on your network. The App may use device networking capabilities, Bonjour, camera or QR features if available, notifications if you enable alerts, and motion or magnetic-field sensors for hidden-camera and EMF-related tools. You can manage permissions in iOS Settings.

Network Requests to Third Parties

Some features contact third-party services directly from your device. Public IP, ISP, and approximate location information may be requested from ipapi.co. Speed tests may use Cloudflare speed-test endpoints. Apple processes App Store purchases and subscription status. Those services may receive technical information such as your IP address, device/network metadata, request timing, diagnostics, and transaction information according to their own policies.

In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

NetScanner may offer auto-renewing subscriptions or other in-app purchases through Apple's App Store. Apple processes purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, payment details, and subscription management. We do not receive your full payment card details.

Support Communications

If you contact us for support, we may receive your email address, the contents of your message, screenshots, diagnostics, and any information you choose to include. Avoid sending sensitive network details unless they are necessary for support.

Sharing and Exporting

If you export, share, copy, message, email, or send information from the App to another person, app, or service, that action is controlled by you and may be handled by Apple or the selected third-party service. Their privacy policies may apply.

Children's Privacy

NetScanner is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Data Retention and Deletion

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, reset app data where the App provides that option, or uninstall the App. Support emails may be retained as needed to respond to requests, maintain business records, and comply with legal obligations.

Your Responsibility for Network Data

Network scan results can reveal sensitive information about your home, office, devices, and services. You are responsible for deciding what networks to scan, what information to save, and what information to share or delete. To the fullest extent permitted by law, DHDS, LLC is not responsible for loss, deletion, corruption, unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse of your network data, app data, exports, or sharing choices.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above.
